The Badgers brought in a young, rising quarterback on a recent visit.
The Wisconsin Badgers recently hosted 2028 in-state quarterback J.J. Chapman on a visit, bringing him out to a spring ball practice for the first time.
To say this was an incredible visit would be an understatement. Thank you @UWBadgers for the hospitality. I look forward to a continued relationship with UW Madison. ❤️ pic.twitter.com/M9sEhvJ1G1

“What impressed me most about my visit to UW Madison was the intensity of practice and the attention to detail,” Chapman shared with Bucky’s 5th Quarter. “Being able to sit down with Coach Longo after the practice to discuss the offense and what it is like to be a quarterback for the Badgers exceeded my expectations. All of the coaches and recruiting staff were phenomenal. Wisconsin really knows how to make you feel like family!
“[Longo] sat with my grandfather and I for quite a while. Coach Longo commented on my size and told me to just continue to be myself, to keep working hard, and to show out when I am there for camp on June 11th. It was great to be able to talk football with him!”
It has been a busy spring for Chapman, who has made visits to Miami, Purdue, and Michigan State, despite being only a rising freshman in high school.
How has the early interest from top programs felt like for the quarterback?
“I am blessed! My hard work is paying off,” Chapman shared. “I absolutely love this game and I love the pressure. What I love even more is the ability to impact others and be a leader on and off the field.”
Heading into his freshman season, Chapman has high expectations as he’s set to attend Oak Creek High School in the fall.
“My goal for this upcoming season is to be a freshman varsity starter, at the age of 13, for Oak Creek High School. A continuous goal is to increase my strength and speed and to further my relationships with the Universities. Outside of school, I am striving to be selected for the FBU Freshman All-American bowl and to be selected for QBU Select. Academically, I anticipate maintaining a 4.0 GPA in school.”
The 2028 quarterback has already started to receive national traction on the recruiting side, and the Badgers are already showing interest in the in-state quarterback, who will be a name to watch over the next few years.
