The Badgers became the third school this spring to break a 2026 running back onto campus.
The Wisconsin Badgers hosted 2026 Ohio running back Calilin Grant Jr. on a visit earlier this spring, providing him his first Big Ten experience.

“It was amazing for my first ever Big 10 experience,” Grant shared with Bucky’s 5th Quarter. “I really enjoyed the atmosphere and getting to meet Coach Spalding!”
Grant found the experience welcoming, and his meeting with running backs coach Devon Spalding stood out, as the position coach assured him to “keep working hard on and off the field and I would have a bright future.”
The trip to Wisconsin marked Grant’s third visit of the spring, as he had also taken trips to Kent State and Miami of Ohio.
Currently, Grant holds two scholarship offers, with his first coming from Eastern Kentucky back in December, while Miami of Ohio extended a scholarship earlier this month.
A return trip to Madison at some point is a part of the plan for Grant, who is prioritizing good coaching, good academics, and coaches that will be there after football as the top three factors in his recruitment.
The Badgers have done extensive recruiting work in the Ohio area since head coach Luke Fickell joined the program, and that has continued with Grant, who has become another running back from the state to receive interest from Wisconsin.
