That gives new head coach Cara Consuegra two rotation players returning from the 2023-24 roster.
It seems that 22 days in the transfer portal was enough for Marquette guard Lee Volker. The Next’s Talia Goodman, aka The Queen Of The Transfer Portal, reported on Tuesday that Volker has withdrawn from the transfer portal, meaning that she will stay at Marquette for the 2024-25 season.
BREAKING: Marquette’s Lee Volker has withdrawn her name from the transfer portal, a source tells @TheNextHoops.

Volker was reported as entering the portal back on April 8th, five days after it was announced that Megan Duffy had left Marquette to take the Virginia Tech head coaching job. After Cara Consuegra was hired as the new MU head coach, Volker was seen participating in a team workout, indicating that she was considering staying at Marquette at the very least. I’m unsure of the details of the conversations and debates that may have gone on between Volker and Consuegra or between Volker and any other coaches, but it would appear that Marquette — and their admittedly gigantic volume of playing time for next season — is the best spot for the one time Duke transfer going forward.
With that said, Volker does not fundamentally change the current outlook of the Golden Eagles in Consuegra’s first season, or at least her first season in Milwaukee does nothing to change it. She appeared in all 32 games this past season, immediately emerging as a rotation player for the Golden Eagles. Volker finished the year averaging 3.5 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 1.1 assists per game, and she was on the floor for about 15 minutes a night for MU and Megan Duffy. Let’s drop in the newly updated scholarship chart before we go any further…..
Volker’s return to the roster gives Cara Consuegra two rotation players returning from last year’s NCAA tournament team. Skylar Forbes remains your returning stats leader in all notable counting categories, but having just under 33 minutes per game out of 200 possible minutes coming back is still better than having just under 18 minutes, new coach or not.
Volker is, by the way, not listed on the official GoMarquette.com roster page at the moment, but that’s not a surprise. It’s probably easier to remove her than it is to put her back, so no worries about that at the moment. While we’re at it, I’ll mention that Justine Raterman is no longer listed as associate head coach on the roster page. Feels like my “it’s just taking time to work itself out” theory from when Deont’a McChester was hired is pretty accurate.
