The Badgers coaching staff hit it off with a 2026 linebacker on a recent visit.
The Wisconsin Badgers hosted 2026 linebacker Brady Ballart on a recent visit, joining in on a busy spring for the rising junior.

“Practice was great,” Ballart said to Bucky’s 5th Quarter after the visit. “The physicality that they had today was through the roof and they looked very good on defense!”
It’s been early in the communication stages between the linebacker and the coaching staff, given the recruiting rules for underclassmen, but Ballart was able to connect with both defensive coordinator Mike Tressel and outside linebackers coach Matt Mitchell during his visit.
“I got to eat lunch with Coach Tressel and share some stories, but the main thing that stood out to me was my meeting with Coach Mitchell,” Ballart revealed. “We clicked instantly, he wanted to really get to know me, and I got to know him a little bit too, he also went over some of the expectations and philosophies of the defense with me.”
The Badgers envision Ballart in an inside linebacker role, which makes sense for his 6’2, 215-pound frame.
It has been a busy spring for the Indiana native, as the linebacker has gotten to visit Wake Forest, Duke, Louisville, Kentucky, Cincinnati, Minnesota, Indiana, Toledo, and Notre Dame on top of Wisconsin.
“The interest is starting to pick up a lot, but I wanna keep the main thing the main thing, not get into all the fancy stuff,” Ballart said. “Just try to find where is best for me and build amazing relationships with the coaches! The relationships and trust goes a long way for me.”
It’ll be an even busier summer for the linebacker, who has visits planned to every school listed above along with Stanford, while his return trip to Wisconsin is set for June 11th.
What’s Ballart looking for in his next destination?
“I just want to find the best fit for me, it doesn’t matter if it’s close to home or not, whatever is best for me is where I wanna be and I want to be somewhere that I can grow into the best person possible!”
