Kevin Herget also clears waivers, sent to Nashville
The Milwaukee Brewers have sent right-handed pitcher Tobias Myers back to Triple-A Nashville after one day with the big league squad. Fellow righty Kevin Herget also cleared waivers after being designated for assignment, and he’ll join Myers in Nashville.
Myers, who still has yet to make his MLB debut, is 1-1 with a 1.84 ERA and 19 strikeouts in three starts with the Sounds this season. He was called upon yesterday as an emergency arm in what was a bullpen game for the Brewers, but the Crew made it through the game with just five pitchers, who combined to shutout the Padres in the series finale.
Herget was designated for assignment earlier this week. After clearing waivers, he’ll stay with Nashville after being sent there prior to his DFA last week. In four appearances with the Sounds, Herget has allowed four hits and a walk while striking out five across 5 1⁄3 scoreless frames.
The Brewers will announce a corresponding move for Myers ahead of the series opener against the Cardinals tomorrow, as the active roster now sits at 25 players.
