Two NFL Teams Were Reportedly Willing To Pay Jonathan Taylor

The Colts announced Tuesday that All-Pro running back Jonathan Taylor will not be traded this season. Clearly, they didn’t get an offer that met their demands.

Taylor, meanwhile, has been waiting to receive a contract extension that’ll compensate him fairly for the 2024 season and beyond.

Unfortunately for Taylor, it’s being reported that at least two trade suitors were ready to pay him. They just weren’t able to successfully negotiate a trade.

According to Josina Anderson, the Dolphins and Packers were both willing to give Taylor a long-term contract.

“I’m told both the #Dolphins and #Packers were both willing to give RB Jonathan Taylor a contract that placed him among the highest-paid running backs in the NFL entering this season, per source,” Anderson reported on the platform formerly known as Twitter.

Taylor would’ve been an excellent addition to Mike McDaniel’s offense in Miami, there’s no question about it.

As for Green Bay, a one-two punch of Jonathan Taylor and Aaron Jones would’ve been a sight to see.

At the end of the day though, Taylor remains in Indianapolis. Maybe next offseason he’ll receive the massive payday he’s looking for.
