The Packers have gotten back on track thanks to a strong November.
In a what-have-you-done-for-me-lately league, the Packers have done quite a bit of late.
All but dead at 2-5 after their Week 8 loss to the Vikings, the Packers put together a solid month of November, winning three of four games to pull within striking distance of a playoff spot, and a timely loss by the Vikings on Monday Night Football makes what once seemed like a distant dream a realistic possibility.
All of this has been fueled by the Packers’ young players, though given the construction of the roster, it’s hard to imagine that it could have been powered by anyone else. The fact is, the Packers had to have help from the youngsters, because there are just a handful of difference-making veterans on this roster to begin with.
But to that end, the young players have delivered. The young receivers are blossoming, the young linemen are doing just enough, and young defenders like Carrington Valentine and Karl Brooks are making splash plays when called upon.
Will it all end in a playoff berth? That will depend on the Packers’ continued growth, but for now the signs are all pointed in the right direction.
