From Sorrell to Williams and the three players drafted in between, each of the Packers’ day-three picks has a chance to make an impact at a sorely-needed spot.
While the Green Bay Packers spent days one and two of the 2025 NFL Draft finding weapons and a protector for quarterback Jordan Love who might be able to contribute from day one of their rookie seasons, day three is usually all about finding depth and promoting competition. That’s exactly what the Packers did with their five picks in rounds 4 through 7, as they added players who will get opportunities to fight for roster spots and/or backup roles on the depth chart.
A couple of these players may have some chances right away, starting with the pass-rushers. Barryn Sorrell and Collin Oliver will look to carve out some situational and rotational snaps with the defensive end group, with Sorrell more likely to play on base downs and Oliver getting some looks as a designated pass-rusher.
The last three picks, Warren Brinson, Micah Robinson, and John Williams, will be in a tougher fight to make the roster, and if they do they’ll surely be penciled into backup and reserve roles. But all three are ready to start that competition, and all are excited about the opportunity.
This is a fun group, and while Sorrell’s story and journey to Green Bay has been one of the highlights of the offseason, every member of this draft class brings something interesting to the table.

One projection system doesn’t think very highly of the picks of Barryn Sorrell and Collin Oliver as adding to the depth at defensive end. Packers fans will look forward to them proving that system wrong.
Packers late-round rookie sends a message that might get him on the field a lot in 2025
Warren Brinson wants to be more than a run-stuffer, and he’s confident in his ability to get after the quarterback.

Robinson only took one top-30 visit, so he’s not terribly surprised that he ended up as a Packer — especially after telling the coaches “I’m going to be back…hopefully I’ll be back.”

Fellow 7th-rounders, Robinson and Williams will be connected a bit. The offensive lineman has a rare combination of versatility, athleticism, and football IQ for a late-round pick, however, and his college coach is convinced the Packers got a good one.
