Things to watch for during the Packers 2025 Training Camp

July 15, 2025 by Packers Talk

The wait is almost over as the Packers 2025 Training camp is around the corner.

Its hard to believe but the road to Super Bowl LX begin for the Packers in about a week.

It has been a long couple of months for fan and players but there is some excitement surrounding the team.

The Packers added some key additions to both offense and defense during the offseason.

Both through free agency and draft the Packers did what they had to do to improve on their weaknesses from last year.

With that, here are some things to watch for during the 2025 Packers Training Camp.

1. Who will be WR number 1?

The biggest need the Packers had heading into the offseason was at wide receiver.

Not necessarily the depth but, who will take the place of Christian Watson.

Watson, who injured his ACL during the Packers last game against the Bears, will be out for the majority of the season.

While there is some optimism on whether or not Watson can recover in time, the Packers needed someone with the speed and playmaking ability Watson has.

Not only that the Packers receivers struggled last year with dropped passes.

Enter in Matthew Golden and Savion Williams, the Packers new tools at WR.

Golden, who was picked in the first round, will have to work for the number one spot at WR.

For now it looks like Romeo Doubs and Jayden Reed will battle it out for the starting WR position.

But it will be interesting to see how Matthew Golden develops during training camp.

Same could be said about Williams as well.

Williams was used a lot of ways in college and it will be interesting to see where the Packers use him.

It will also be interesting to see how the WR’s as a group perform after last years performance.

Will they step it up or will the dropped passes continue?

2. Who will be CB number 1?

While the WR’s are trying to figure out who is the starting WR, the same could be said about the cornerbacks.

After Jaire Alexanders departure from Green Bay, the team was left without a starting CB.

While this news came late in the offseason, the Packers had a plan to figure out the situation.

During the offseason, the Packers added Nate Hobbs from the Las Vegas Raiders.

Hobbs has some experience starting at CB, but injuries have been an issue as well.

For now it looks like ether Keisean Nixon or Carrington Valentine will be the starting corner.

But adding Hobbs to the mix makes the CB battle interesting during training camp.

All three are capable of stating at CB, but it will be interesting to see how they line up throughout the Packers 2025 Training Camp.

3.The offensive line

The offensive line was one of the biggest needs heading into the 2025 offseason.

Their performance against the Eagles in the Wild Card round cemented that.

While the Packers have a good starting core, the Eagles exposed the Packers depth at the position.

During the offseason, the Packers added offensive guard Aaron Banks from the 49ers.

Banks was one of the best guards available in free agency and the Packers gave him a big contract.

During the draft the Packers used their second round pick on Left tackle Anthony Belton.

The question is though who is the Packers starting 5 on the line?

Right now as it looks the only position in question is Right guard or one of the tackle positions.

The Packers certainly have depth and versatility with this one.

The Packers first round pick from last year Jordan Morgan can play both and Belton can do the same.

But the Packers are hoping that Morgan can play Tackle but he seems to be a fit at guard.

But the Packers can also plug in Sean Rhyan, who did a great job at guard last year.

It will be interesting to see what combinations the Packers will use on the offensive line once training camp starts.

Training Camp Season

The Packers 2025 Training Camp has a lot of excitement around it.

While there are still some questions about the team, it isn’t as bad as years past.

By this time last year, we didn’t know whether or not Jordan Love would be extended.

Turns out he got a huge contract.

But this year, the Packers head into the 2025 training camp with a clear head, focused on one goal.

Buckle up Packers fans, hoping the Packers take us on a ride this season that take us to Santa Clara, California.
