Setting Expectations for Toyotathon Jordan Love

November 22, 2025 by Packers Talk

Jordan Love’s career with the Green Bay Packers has shown an interesting and hilarious trend thus far. In both seasons, he has started the year pretty rocky before finishing strong right as the weather starts to turn. In 2023, many fans rightfully wondered if Jordan Love was any good over the first half of that season. In 2024, it was injuries that hampered his effectiveness early on. But in both seasons he finished the year strong, and marked towards the top of the league in almost every key late season statistical category.  For those who may be unaware, these statistical surges line up almost perfectly with Toyotathon, Toyota’s year end sales event that runs from mid November to early January. It’s as much a funny internet meme as it is any real correlation, but I think it’ll be fun to dig into the statistical reality of it and try to draw some conclusions as to why this happens.

First, let’s look at the numbers. Here are some of Jordan Love’s key stats compiled from games that were played outside of Toyotathon.

2023 Stats Outside of Toyotathon

  • 60.1% completion percentage
  • 229 passing yards per game
  • 18 TD passes
  • 12 INT
  • 72.4 QB rating
  • 4-7 record

2024 Stats Outside of Toyotathon

  • 61.4% completion percentage
  • 236 passing yards per game
  • 16 TD passes
  • 14 INT
  • 84.2 QB rating
  • 5-5 record

Now for his stats during Toyotathon of those same seasons.

2023 Stats During Toyotathon

  • 71.2% completion percentage
  • 263 passing yards per game
  • 19 TD passes
  • 1 INT
  • 116.7 QB rating
  • 6-2 record

2024 Stats During Toyotathon

  • 65% completion percentage
  • 207 passing yards per game
  • 9 TD passes
  • 0 INT
  • 108 QB rating
  • 4-2 record

Now if you’re a Green Bay Packers fan who doesn’t want to put any stock in the Toyotathon meme, I totally get it. However, I might say that these numbers prove this may be a bit more than just a meme phenomenon. The biggest number that jumps out to me is Love’s TD-INT ratio during Toyotathon. 28 TD passes to just 1 INT is pretty mind boggling stuff. That’s the type of number that reminds me of prime Aaron Rodgers.

Before we get into what the 2025 Toyotathon could look like for Jordan Love, let’s check out his numbers so far this year.

  • 67.7% completion percentage
  • 242 passing yards per game
  • 15 TD passes
  • 3 INT
  • 103.2 QB rating
  • 6-3-1 record

Now let’s do a little math for fun. Say that Jordan Love gets the same statistical bump that he’s enjoyed over the last two Toyotathons, what would his stat projections look like for this year’s Toyotathon?

  • 75% completion percentage
  • 252 passing yards per game
  • 13 TD passes
  • 0 INT
  • 6-1 record

Every Packers fan in their right mind would take those stats every day and twice on Sundays. But the best part is that it’s not entirely out of the realm of possibility. Those numbers aren’t that far fetched when compared to what Jordan Love has already done in past years’ Toyotathons.

It should be noted that the Packers have a truly grueling schedule upcoming. Remaining are 5 games against NFC north opponents and 2 games against streaking AFC teams in the Broncos and the Ravens. These next 7 games will truly make or break the 2025 season. For the Green Bay Packers to recapture their early season dominance, they may need Jordan Love to become a Toyotathon merchant once again.

Jayden Reed is on his way back, Marshawn Lloyd shouldn’t be far behind, and the Matthew Golden breakout has got to be just around the corner. There’s many factors lining up to make this year’s Toyotathon look and feel extra special. But in the end it will all come down to Jordan Love. He’s proven he can be the best late season quarterback in the NFL already, and the Packers may need him to be just that again. Bring on that extra Toyotathon magic, the Green Bay Packers could sure use it!
