For the second year in a row the NFC Championship Game will go through Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California.

The San Francisco 49ers have advanced to and will host the NFC Championship Game next week after their 24-21 win over the Green Bay Packers in the NFC Divisional Round. It was a hard-fought battle with a scintillating, back-and-forth third quarter, but it was Christian McCaffrey who played hero tonight.

After a missed 41-yard field goal by Packers kicker Anders Carlson with 6:21 remaining in the game, the 49ers trailed 21-17. 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy led the team on a 12-play, 69-yard drive that was capped off by a beautiful six-yard touchdown run by McCaffrey with just 1:11 remaining in the game.

Packers quarterback Jordan Love tried to lead the team down the field for a game-tying score, but was picked off by Dre Greenlaw to seal the win for the 49ers.

The 49ers have now made it to their fourth NFC Championship Game in the last five years and hope to win their first Super Bowl in 29 years.

Their opponent will be the winner of tomorrow’s game between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Detroit Lions.
