The Packers signed Sammy Watkins to attempt to make up for some of the lost production from Davante Adams departure.
However, according to ESPN’s Rob Demovsky, Watkins’ contract structure makes it no lock that he even makes Green Bay’s 53-man roster come Week 1.
“Sammy Watkins’ contract indicates he’s no lock to make the Packers’ roster,” the Packers writer tweeted. Noting that the receiver has a total salary of just $1.85 million. Adding, Watkins “reportedly had incentives up to $4 million but no details on those yet.”

There’s certainly some upside for Watkins in Green Bay, who reunites with Matt LaFleur after working together on the Rams in 2017.
