Report: There’s Still 1 Team Very Interested In Aaron Rodgers

After a tumultuous offseason, Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers are in a pretty good place heading into Week 1.

Just in case things go south this year though, at least one team is reportedly waiting in the wings in case the Packers have to deal their three-time MVP quarterback.

Not surprisingly, it’s apparently the Denver Broncos, who were mentioned frequently in conjunction with Rodgers this summer.

“I’m told the Denver Broncos, who would have been interested this past offseason, remain interested and could try to trade for Rodgers after this season,” NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport said on the air Sunday morning. “They have not yet committed to a long-term quarterback.”

The Broncos did not have a chance to acquire Rodgers this offseason. They also bypassed the opportunity to draft Justin Fields and Mac Jones, instead opting to head into the season with veteran trade addition Teddy Bridgewater and third-year pro Drew Lock.

Bridgewater beat out Lock during training camp and was named the team’s starter for Week 1. He’ll lead the Broncos into today’s matchup with the New York Giants.

Meanwhile, Rodgers and the Packers are facing the New Orleans Saints in Jacksonville this afternoon. Both games will kick off at 4:25 p.m. ET.
