For the past few weeks the New York Jets and the Green Bay Packers have been locked in a staring contest over an Aaron Rodgers trade, practically daring the other to change their position on trade compensation.
Based on the latest report, that staring contest is going to continue for the foreseeable future. According to ESPN Packers insider Rob Demovsky, the Packers are content to wait until the Jets match their trade terms and will not agree to the Jets’ current demands.
“The way I understand it, the Packers are waiting for the Jets to meet their terms, not the other way around,” Demovsky said, via Eli Berkovits.
Fans of both teams seem to be content with that situation for obvious reasons. The Packers want to get the biggest package from the Jets possible, while the Jets would like to give up the least valued assets they can.

By many accounts, this standoff is likely to continue all the way until at least the end of April and the 2023 NFL Draft.
If a trade is done by then, it will most likely be reflected in the Draft somehow. If it’s not, things become a lot more interesting.
When will a trade for Aaron Rodgers finally come to fruition?
