Report: Packers Wide Receiver Trade Is ‘Done Deal’

Earlier this week, the Green Bay Packers received some great news when Aaron Rodgers decided he would report to training camp and play for the team in 2021.

However, there were some concessions the Packers needed to make first. According to multiple reports, Rodgers wanted a re-worked deal that will make him a free agent following the 2021 season.

But that’s not all. On Monday, Trey Wingo reported reigning MVP would like to be reunited with former teammate Randall Cobb. “Hearing Rodgers coming back to GB hinging on trading for former teammate Randall Cobb,” Wingo reported on Twitter. “If Cobb is in Green Bay it looks like Rodgers will be too.”

Well, it didn’t take long for the Packers to pull that off too. According to a report from reporter Chris Brockman, a deal sending Cobb to the Packers is a “done deal.”

The former Packers wide receiver is only 30 years old. He was productive for the Dallas Cowboys in 2019, catching 55 passes for 828 yards and three touchdowns, though his numbers fell off last year with the Houston Texans.

Last season, he had 38 receptions for 441 yards and three touchdowns. He is in the second year of a three-year, $27 million deal.

It’s unclear what the Texans received in the trade.
