How is the Aaron Rodgers situation in Green Bay going to end?
The superstar quarterback wants out, but the Packers don’t want to trade him. So, we’ve been in somewhat of a standoff. Rodgers did not report for voluntary OTAs or mandatory minicamp. It’s unclear if he’ll show up for training camp later this week.
Are there any solutions that could keep him in Green Bay for another season?
NFL Network insider Mike Silver floated one on Monday morning.
“The team could agree to lop off the final two years of his contract–and, theoretically, not to franchise him after this season–to set up a Last Dance scenario. Not likely, but maybe Packers decide 1 year’s better than none,” he suggests.

NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport agrees that it could make sense. Of course, the Packers would have to agree to it.
“This would be one way to do it. Would the Packers agree? We shall see. But would be an option worth discussing,” he tweeted.

It’s a big week for the Packers.
The team is currently holding its shareholders meeting and players are scheduled to report to training camp in a couple of days.
If the Rodgers situation is going to be resolved before the regular season, this might be the week it happens.
