Randall Cobb Sends 3-Word Message After Packers Trade

July 29, 2021 by The Spun Leave a Comment

Randall Cobb catches a pass for the Green Bay Packers against the Detroit Lions.

Earlier this week, Aaron Rodgers made his triumphant return to the Green Bay Packers after threatening to never play for the team again.

His return to the field came with a few notable concessions from the Packers, though. Rodgers re-worked his contract and will not be a free agent following the 2021 season.

The second concession was a little more interesting. The reigning NFL MVP reportedly wanted the Packers to trade for one of his former wide receivers: current Houston Texans wideout Randall Cobb.

Well, the Packers wasted no time making sure Cobb was part of their future plans after Rodgers made it clear he wanted his former teammate. On Wednesday morning, Cobb announced his return to Lambeau.

“I’m coming home,” he said in a statement on Twitter.

Cobb played in 10 games with Houston last season, registering 38 receptions for 441 yards and three touchdowns. In his final season with the Packers in 2018, he caught 38 passes for 383 yards and two scores in nine appearances.

He flashed during his one season with the Dallas Cowboys in 2019, catching 55 passes for 828 yards and three touchdowns.

It’s unclear how much playing time Cobb will have during the 2021 season – especially after the team drafted former Clemson star Amari Rodgers. However, if Aaron Rodgers wants something, it would probably behoove the Packers to finally start listening.
