On Wednesday afternoon, the Green Bay Packers and New York Jets took the field for a joint practice.
The practice pitted brothers Matt LaFleur – Packers head coach – and Mike LaFleur – Jets offensive coordinator – against one another. It also showcased reigning NFL MVP quarterback Aaron Rodgers against one of the top picks from the 2021 draft.
New York selected former BYU quarterback Zach Wilson with the No. 2 overall pick in the draft. At the time, some questioned whether or not he would be able to lead a franchise thanks to his diminutive size.
Well, it turns out that Wilson isn’t that small after all. During Wednesday’s practice, the rookie quarterback was standing next to Aaron Rodgers.
A photo of the two quarterbacks standing side-by-side quickly went viral on social media.

Sure, the angle of the photo makes it seem like Wilson is much bigger than Rodgers. However, one thing is clear, the No. 2 overall pick isn’t nearly as small as everyone made it seem like during the draft process.
Wilson recently made his preseason debut against the New York Giants. While the offensive play-calling was relatively simple, he executed well, connecting on 6-of-9 passes for 63 yards and no turnovers.
The Jets and Packers face off in a preseason game on Saturday.
