Two of the NFL’s fastest rising quarterbacks will take on two of the NFL’s most accomplished quarterbacks this summer when Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen take on Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers on the golf course for The Match. And the trash talking has already begun.
NFL Network reporter James Palmer tweeted this afternoon that he spoke with Mahomes about the upcoming golf event. When Mahomes was asked why he believes he and Allen will win, Mahomes reportedly said this:
“We’ll be able to play the course a little differently than old Tom and old Aaron over there.”
Now that’s a burn that’s going to start making the rounds in the coming hours. Fans are already loving it and enjoying some trash talk of their own in response:

“They’re going to go full dechambeau and get smoked by Brady and Rodgers lol,” wrote another.
“Josh Allen is also a little boy but he’ll get carried by the goat,” a third wrote.
Whatever the result of The Match is, Mahomes is guaranteed a rematch with Tom Brady in the 2022 NFL regular season. He’ll also be playing Allen and the Bills at some point as well.
If we’re lucky, maybe we’ll see Mahomes take on Rodgers in a Super Bowl too.
