Packers Training Camp Updates and Highlights

July 26, 2025 by Packers Talk

The 2025 NFL season feels closer than ever. The Packers just started their training camp this week. Here are some updates and highlights based off what I have been reading and hearing thus far.

QB1

So far, I have read that Jordan Love has been having a solid first couple days of camp. The first day of camp Love completed 8 of his 12 passes while day two he completed 9-of-14. While camp stats don’t carry a whole lot of value, it seems Love has been working on some minor adjustments to his throwing.

From several pictures, as well as reports, it is evident that the Packers have been working with Love on his feet placement during throws. Love has always favored throwing off of his back foot and fading away when doing so.

It seems like the Packers have been working with him, and there seems to be more of an effort being made to by Love to step into the throw with his left foot rather than throwing unbalanced.

This speaks volumes to the growth Love has undergone since entering the NFL, as the Packers are doing everything they can to make the young quarterback more confident and comfortable in the pocket.

OL

The offensive line has been shaken around quite a bit at camp so far. The starters on Wednesday included a line of Walker-Banks-Rhyan-Morgan-Tom. Later on, the lineup shifted to Morgan-Glover-Monk-Rhyan-Tom.

Day 2 started off with the same rotation on Wednesday with Walker-Banks-Rhyan-Morgan-Tom. Aaron Banks reportedly tweaked something on Thursday and is considered day-to-day. In his absence, the lineup became Walker-Morgan-Rhyan-Monk-Tom.

The offensive line could shake out in many ways, but that’s something the Packers have always tried to value. Let’s hope the depth speaks for itself in case there are some injuries along the way in 2025.

Cornerback Room

After Jaire Alexander’s departure and the Packers waiting until the seventh round to select a cornerback this past draft, concerns around depth and the plan at cornerback were valid.

Since then, the Packers have elected to move wide receiver Bo Melton to corner. Melton would have likely had a difficult time making the roster as a wide receiver given the depth, but is this a move that could actually work?

Some have reports believe Melton would actually work at corner, others are not as convinced. Either way, the Packers wouldn’t have moved Melton to corner if they didn’t think there was a chance.

Free agency addition Nate Hobbs has had a good camp thus far, as he snagged an interception off of Love on Thursday. Prior to the interception, Love’s hard count got Hobbs to jump offsides.

Hobbs on the series “The second hard count, I’m like OK, cool, and I jumped offsides. A mistake we can’t have. But I knew if I was to jump offsides, I had to make that (next) play to get us off the field, so I told my teammates, ‘That’s on me. I promise I’ll make that play.’ That builds trust.”

Former 2023 seventh round pick Carrington Valentine has seemed to hold his own during camp. Several reports described his coverage as “sticky” during camp so far.

All in all, camp is always an exciting time and makes football seem just that much closer. Jordan Love’s development is evidently still growing. The offensive line could have several looks going into this season and the corner room has a new leader in Nate Hobbs.
