Packers to wear new alternate uniforms in Week 7 vs. Washington

The Green Bay Packers will wear their new alternate uniform when the Washington Football Team comes to Lambeau Field in Week 7.

The matchup is scheduled for a noon kickoff on Oct. 24 in Green Bay.

The Packers will be donning a variation of their iconic green-and-gold look for the contest.

The team revealed a new 1950’s style throwback uniform on Thursday. The new alternate uniform provides a simple look featuring a Kelly green jersey, pants and socks, an all gold helmet and all gold numbers, lettering and striping.  The facemask is gray.

The look was inspired by the uniforms worn during the early 1950s, when green was reintroduced as a primary color, laying the groundwork for the green-and-gold uniforms worn today.

According to the team, the Packers can wear the uniform up to three times per year over five years. The team will only wear the look once in 2021, which follows with how the team has worn throwback uniforms in the past. While there was no alternate uniform in 2020, the Packers did wear a navy blue and gold alternate nine times (all at home) between 2010 and 2019.
