NFL stars have different ideas about money than the rest of us.
For a high-earning star like Green Bay Packers cornerback Jaire Alexander, missing out on more than a half-million dollars is no big deal.
Alexander skipped a portion of the Packers’ offseason program earlier this year, forfeiting his $700,000 workout bonus.
The 26-year-old corner said he’s “fine” with missing out on this big-time payday, according to Rob Demovsky of The Athletic.
“Stayed in Green Bay til April, left when offseason program began, came back for this week’s minicamp and said he’ll stay most of the summer. Said he likes to be here when others aren’t and is fine missing out on his $700K workout bonus,” Demovsky reports.

Alexander is set to earn $1.08 million in base salary this coming season. In addition to this forfeited workout bonus, he also has a $611,760 roster bonus and a $2.36 million restructure bonus with a $10.75 million cap hit.
The Packers’ restructure of Alexander’s contract saved the team nearly $10 million in cap space this offseason.
