Aaron Rodgers revealed his desire to play for the New York Jets last month, but the Jets and Green Bay Packers have yet to complete a trade. Packers president Mark Murphy didn’t offer any new information Tuesday.
Per ESPN’s Rob Demovsky, Murphy declined to say if the ball is now in New York’s court to get a deal done. He said Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst and Jets GM Joe Douglas are still negotiating, but Murphy didn’t expect to have any additional answers during the team’s annual bus tour of Wisconsin.
“I anticipate there being quite a few questions,” Murphy said of the Rodgers trade situation, “and I anticipate saying there’s no update.”
Packers president Mark Murphy before leaving for the team’s annual bus tour of Wisconsin wouldn’t say whether he considers the ball to be in their court or in the Jets’ court when it comes to finishing the Aaron Rodgers trade.

Murphy called it “interesting” the Packers are in a “similar situation” as they were when sending Favre to the Jets 15 years ago. That move paved the way for Rodgers to take over, as Murphy sounds ready to turn the offense to Jordan Love.
“I’m really glad that Aaron Rodgers turned out to be such a good quarterback,” Murphy said. “I’m hopeful that Jordan Love turns out to be a similar quarterback.”
While onlookers are eager for a resolution, neither the Packers nor the Jets have placed a deadline on finalizing a trade.
