The Green Bay Packers ended their 2025 NFL preseason against the Seattle Seahawks at Lambeau Field with a 20-7 victory. Click here to see the highlights.
The first three possessions for the Packers led to 17 points, while the defense held the Seahawks scoreless until the fourth quarter. Green Bay impressed in this one—particularly the starters and second-teamers. There are still plenty of questions that need to be answered, but we won’t have to wait long. Tuesday is cut-down day.
But before I get to that, here are some quick highlights from Seahawks at Packers:
Packers Highlights

The Packers’ first-team defense showed they’re ready for the regular season, especially Quay Walker and Edgerrin Cooper. So, with it being 3rd-and-8, Cooper shot the gap to attack the Seahawks’ running back, forcing pressure on quarterback Jalen Milroe. The back was pushed back toward Milroe, forcing him to scramble right into the arms of Walker.
Of course, that play alone should excite Packers fans about what could become a dynamic linebacker duo in Walker and Cooper.
So, after the defense shut down Seattle’s first-team offense, Malik Willis and the first-team offense took the field for their second drive. That’s when we got a glimpse of what rookie wideout Matthew Golden can be. On 2nd-and-3, Willis took a deep shot down the right sideline. The throw was slightly inside, but Golden adjusted acrobatically and hauled in a great hands catch for a 39-yard gain.
By the end of the first quarter, I was more than satisfied with what the Packers put on the field. They look ready. Now, the hope is that the rest of the starters continue to heal and are ready for Week 1 against the Detroit Lions.
Cut-Down Day

So, cut-down day is looming. With the preseason finished, general manager Brian Gutekunst and the Packers’ front office now face some very tough decisions. These are the questions I’m most eager to see answered:
- 1. Sean Clifford or Taylor Elgersma?
- 2. Does MarShawn Lloyd land on the PUP list, and what does that mean for the running back room?
- 3. Will Green Bay make a trade—either moving a player or bringing one in?
- 4. How many wide receivers make the roster, and who are they?
- 5. What’s the plan at linebacker? Isaiah Simmons?
- 6. Which defensive linemen stick around—and what about Deslin Alexandre?
- 7. Finally, how many cornerbacks do the Packers keep?
Cut-down day is always strange. It’s both happy and sad. So, for many players, it marks the end of their football journey. But for the 2025 Green Bay Packers, it marks the true beginning of their Super Bowl journey.
I, for one, am excited.
And as always—
