The Green Bay Packers’ plan for Jordan Love heading into the preseason is still not settled.
In years past, he’d get a lot more game action since he was Aaron Rodgers’ backup, but that may come to an end this year now that he’s the starter.
Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst has gone “back and forth” regarding how much Love will play this upcoming season.
“I’d like to see him play a lot if you can promise we can protect him and keep him healthy,” Gutenkunst said.

Love will definitely play in at least one of Green Bay’s preseason games. That is usually reserved as the “dress rehearsal” game where all of the starters play.
A plan will likely be revealed at some point before Green Bay’s first preseason game on Aug. 11 against Cincinnati. After that, there will be two games against New England and Seattle before the regular season starts.
