The Packers’ receiving corps won’t be at 100 percent for their Week 1 showdown with the Bears. Moments ago, the team had unfortunate news to share regarding Christian Watson’s status.
Watson, a former second-round pick, will miss Green Bay’s season opener due to a hamstring injury.
This is a crushing blow to the Packers’ passing game. Watson showed a ton of promise towards the end of his rookie season.
In 14 games, Watson hauled in 41 passes for 611 yards and seven touchdowns. The Packers believe he could be a big-time playmaker this season, but in order to do that, he has to get healthy.
Packers’ HC Matt LaFleur said WR Christian Watson is out for Sunday’s opener vs. Chicago and WR Romeo Doubs will be listed as questionable.

To make matters worse, Romeo Doubs is listed as questionable. If he’s unable to go, Jayden Reed would be Jordan Love’s No. 1 target.
Fortunately for the Packers, it sounds like Doubs is under the belief that he’ll suit up against the Bears.
“I would definitely leave that to Coach LaFleur,” Doubs told reporters Thursday when asked about his injury. “I just thought overall today was a pretty good day. If anything, can’t wait for tomorrow.”
The Bears and Packers will kick off at 4:25 p.m. ET on FOX.
