NFL World Reacts To What Jared Goff Said About Aaron Rodgers

April 30, 2023 by The Spun

It appears that you can count Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff among the people that are disappointed to see Aaron Rodgers leaving the Green Bay Packers to join the New York Jets.

On Thursday, Goff declared that he wishes Rodgers were still in Green Bay. His reason? He wants to keep beating the Packers like his Lions did at the end of the 2022 season.

“I wish him the best in New York and I’m sure he’ll do a great job there. But I kind of wish he was still here so we could beat him twice a year,” Goff said, via ProFootballTalk.

NFL fans and Lions fans in particular loved to see that level of trash talk coming from Goff and believe it’s a sign that he is truly worth rooting for every day:

The world needs to see Goff win a superbowl in Detroit. The conversations between him and Stafford years later, should be a tv show

Jared Goff and the Lions shocked the world by beating Rodgers and the Packers in a do-or-die Week 18 game on Sunday Night Football.

The Packers would have made the playoffs if they had won the game while the Lions were only able to play spoiler – and they did.

Given that the Lions played the Jets this past year, they’re not formally scheduled to play them again until 2026 – and Rodgers will likely be long gone by then.

If the Lions have seen the last of Aaron Rodgers, they at least got the last laugh.
