A deadline has emerged for a trade involving Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Well, sort of.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Day 2 of the upcoming NFL Draft is considered a “soft deadline” for the Jets and Packers.
“The line of demarcation, the soft deadline, is next Friday night, picks 42 and 43,” Schefter said. “Because if picks 42 and 43 come and go without Aaron Rodgers being traded to the New York Jets, then the wait for him to become a Jet could go on for an awful long time.”
Schefter said the Packers could use an extra Day 2 pick from the Jets to add more weapons around Jordan Love.
As expected, the NFL world had a lot to say about this report from Schefter.

“Translation: If the #Packers continue to play hardball, they’re not getting picks 42 or 43. They’ll get absolutely nothing for this upcoming season for Aaron Rodgers and we all know Aaron Rodgers will be on the #Jets this season,” a Jets fan tweeted. “Take your 2nd and be happy, or get 2024 picks.”

Rodgers has been linked to the Jets since the start of March. He announced his intentions to play for the franchise while on “The Pat McAfee Show.”
If the Jets and Packers can’t agree to a deal before next Friday, it’s unclear when this situation will get resolved.
