Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs caused a frenzy this week when he commented how the Packers and Philadelphia Eagles wouldn’t be able to wear green for their Week One game in Brazil.
“They said that the part of Brazil we’re going to, you can’t even wear green at,” Jacobs said, (first transcribed by CBS Sports). “They said, I guess, something to do with the gangs and stuff.”
The game is being played on Friday, September 6, just one day after the Kansas City Chiefs open the regular season against the Baltimore Ravens.
After Jacobs made the comments, the NFL fired back, claiming that green jerseys would be allowed at the stadium.
“You will see a stadium full of fans wearing the green of the Eagles and the green of the Packers,” NFL spokesperson Michael Signora told the Philadelphia Inquirer.
Jacobs later apologized for the comments and is ready to see Brazil in a few months.

The Eagles-Packers game will be played at Corinthians Arena and it’ll start at 8:15 p.m. ET. Peacock will exclusively televise the game.
