It was a truly impressive feat to pull off an event like the Draft in Green Bay, but the team led by Mark Murphy exceeded expectations.
There was plenty of skepticism when the NFL announced that the 2025 Draft would take place in Green Bay. Could a city of 100,000 really host an event with more than twice that number coming into town? Would the infrastructure really hold up and would the attendees be able to enjoy everything sufficiently?
Consider those questions answered.
Green Bay, and to an extent the entire state of Wisconsin, crushed the 2025 NFL Draft. Over three days, 600,000 people came through the gates to attend the Draft, with more participating and celebrating in the surrounding bars and restaurants. The event itself went off without a hitch, driven in large part by soon-to-retire Green Bay Packers president Mark Murphy and the local organizing committee. That group delivered a true showcase event for the Packers, Lambeau Field, and the state of Wisconsin and in doing so, they gave a glimpse of the fun, unique identity of the state to the entire pro football world.
Now, the focus for the Packers shifts back to assembling their roster and preparing for the 2025 season. But we’re going to linger in the afterglow of a truly special event for a little longer and celebrate the great times and memories that this weekend provided.
