Look: NFL World Reacts To The Aaron Rodgers Demand News

The Green Bay Packers have set their asking price for Aaron Rodgers and it’s hefty.

According to Charles Robinson of Yahoo Sports, the Packers’ asking price is a second-round pick in this year’s draft and a first-round pick in next year’s draft. They’re also willing to give something back in 2025 if Rodgers only plays one season.

So far, the Jets don’t want to meet that price, which is why talks are a bit slow.

According to @CharlesRobinson, the #Packers asking price is a 2023 2nd and a 2024 guaranteed 1st. And they are willing to give something back in 2025 if Rodgers retires after one season. And the #Jets don’t want it.

Naturally, NFL fans had a lot to say about this one.

“There’s a reality nobody’s talking about where the Packers are fine sitting on their hands forcing Aaron Rodgers to retire (his original plan), and leaving the Jets scrambling for a plan at QB. If I were NY I’d be calling Lamar’s line before the Ravens close a deal with him,” one tweet read.

Aaron Rodgers is definitely playing 2 years, but hopefully we can get him for a second and a conditional pick.

The Jets are using the McAfee show as a reason to give less AFTER they talked with Aaron Rodgers, which is smart only Rodgers & #Jets know what was discussed https://t.co/e5Wdq9A1AW

Giving up 1st for next year and this years 2nd?

Woody Johnson should’ve accepted this awhile ago with getting the best QB their franchise has had in forever and with the way he talks to Jets fans like he’s already on the team https://t.co/c7x4TNK7mG

If the Packers really think they’re getting a 1st and 2nd for a QB you’re not sure Is playing beyond the 23 season plus having to pay him 60 million, then they’re delusional https://t.co/AOF14gK4I5 pic.twitter.com/u2Ef7Ch4LF

36 mins in. Go Woody. Likely untrue but leave it out there as the truth. They don’t have an owner to challenge it. No way we give up that comp. No market. Let them sweat it out to the end. AR arriving at OTAs 👍🏼. Max should be a 4th now and a 2nd next year. #jets #takeflight https://t.co/cc0DKEPBuP

Absolutely not https://t.co/8BEcRSarP7

This seems reasonable #GoPackGo https://t.co/KKDxY8N6KV

“If this thread is in fact true this feels like the #Jets would be getting a steal out of this. Not sure why they wouldn’t be accepting this deal ASAP,” another tweet read.

The Jets remain confident about getting a deal done but it looks like they want it to be on their terms.
