New York Jets general manager Joe Douglas spoke about Aaron Rodgers during a media availability on Tuesday.
The Jets and Green Bay Packers agreed to a trade on Monday that would bring Rodgers to New York, though it hasn’t been announced yet.
During the presser, Douglas called the trade “historic” for the Jets as they have their next starting quarterback.
Douglas is right since Rodgers is the best quarterback the Jets have had in quite a long time. In fact, an argument could be made that he’s the best quarterback they’ve had since Brett Favre was there.
He immediately makes them a favorite to win the AFC East this upcoming season. They already had the playmakers on both sides of the ball heading into this season but needed a true difference-maker at quarterback.
The Jets feel like they have that in Rodgers now and it should make for a fascinating season.
