Keys to Victory in Green Bay vs Chicago

December 19, 2025 by Packers Talk

The rematch between the oldest rivals in the NFL is here again with the (9-4-1)Packers traveling to the (10-4)Chicago Bears. In just two weeks a lot has changed for both teams with injuries playing a pivotal role in this week 16 matchup. Which team will come out on top in the NFC North? Let’s take a dive into the keys to victory in Green Bay vs Chicago.

Jordan Love needs to be the Best Player on the Field

The first of our keys to victory in Green Bay vs Chicago is Jordan Love needs to be the best player on the field. It is no surprise with the loss of Micah Parsons, other players on the team will need to step up. Most important to the Packers success the rest of the season has to be Quarterback Jordan Love. Jordan Love played his best half of football last week at Denver, unfortunately injuries piled up making the 2nd half a completely different story. No play was more important than the deep shot that injured Christian Watson in the 3rd quarter. That was a game changing play for the Broncos, and Denvers all pro cornerback made an amazing play. If the Packers are going to go into Chicago and come away with another victory, it is imperative that Jordan Love shows that he’s the best player on the field Saturday night. The Bears have not been able to rush the passer consistently, and even without Tackle Zach Tom, Love should be able to pick this Bears defense apart again.

Protect the Football

Second of our keys to victory in Green Bay vs Chicago is protecting the football. There is one common denominator in the Bears victories in 2025, takeaways. Chicago leads the NFL in takeaways and it has been the one thing keeping this defense afloat this season as they rank in the bottom 3rd of the league in most statistics. In week 14 after Jordan Love threw an interception on his 1st series, he never gave the Chicago defense another chance at a takeaway. On the road in a hostile environment it will be even more important for the Packers to keep the ball away from the Bears defense. If Green Bay can protect the ball on Saturday night they have a great chance of finishing the regular season 2-0 vs Chicago.

Slow down Bears rushing attack/Caleb Williams

The last of our keys to victory in Green Bay vs Chicago is slowing down the bears rushing attack including Caleb Williams. The first half of their first matchup the Packers did an amazing job limiting the Chicago rushing attack. The 2nd half however was a much different story. The bears drained the clock with long drives, primarily running the ball. They sprinkled in some WOW throws from Caleb Williams, but make no mistake about it the running game was the toughest test for the Packers. With two of Green Bay’s very best at stopping the run Micah Parsons and Evan Williams(most likely)missing this matchup, it intensifies how imperative it is to contain the Bears rushing attack. That includes keeping Caleb Williams contained as his ability to avoid sacks may be the best skill he possesses at this point in his career. One upside for Green Bay is that the Bears will be without 2 of their top 3 Receivers as Luther Burden and Rome Odunze wont suit up. Load the box and try and contain this rushing attack if you want to have any chance of winning this important matchup.
