Keys to Victory in Green Bay @ Chicago

January 9, 2026 by Packers Talk

The 2025 NFL Playoffs are here as the Green Bay Packers travel to Chicago and play the Bears for the 3rd time this season. There is certainly no love lost between these two historic franchises. Today we will dive into some of the keys to victory in Green Bay @ Chicago.

Stop the Run

The first of our keys to victory in Green Bay @ Chicago is stopping the Bears rushing attack. Whether it is Swift, Monagai, or Caleb Williams, it is imperative that the Packers find a way to slow down all 3 players. If the Bears get an early lead, don’t expect Ben Johnson to take his pedal off the metal. He will run his backs time and time again given the chance. After watching what happened to this defense a few weeks ago vs Derrick Henry, would this surprise anyone? It should not surprise this Packers coaching staff, who most likely feel confident they can slow this Bears rushing attack once more. The Packers will have safety Evan Williams back this game which could help improve the run defense. Jeff Hafley also could be coaching his final game for the Green and Gold. Do the players show up for there soon to be ex defensive coordinator? Time will tell and if the Packers can’t slow down this rushing attack. It could be a very long day for this defense.

Jordan Love needs to show up

If the Packers have any hopes of reaching their ultimate goal, it wont be achieved if Jordan Love doesn’t show up to the playoffs and ball out. Just a few weeks ago, Jordan Love was top 3 in MVP Voting, and for good reason. However a bad 2nd half in Denver and a concussion vs Chicago ended any and all MVP discussions. That does not mean that Love can’t go nuclear in the playoffs. We have seen Quarterbacks have amazing postseason runs that lead their team to championships. Joe Flacco and Aaron Rodgers both put together postseason runs that carried their teams to titles. Love has the tools to put together a magical playoff run. He will certainly be motivated facing a team that took him out just a few weeks ago. Furthermore right tackle Zach Tom is listed as questionable, if he can go that will be a huge boost to Love and this offense. When Tom is on the field there is no question this offense is just different. It is time for Jordan Love to have another signature playoff win, beating your most hated rival would be a great start.

Protect the Football

The last of our keys to victory in Green Bay @ Chicago is protecting the football. The Bears defense has kept their team in games they have no business being in. Call it luck, or being at the right place at the right time. There is no debate the turnovers is really the only thing that has kept the Chicago Bears defense in any game. Saturday night should be no different, if you protect the ball, you will put up points vs Chicago. The last time these two met, Josh Jacob’s fumbled inside the 5 yard line. That was the difference between winning and losing. Regardless of the dreaded onside kick to Doubs. If the Packers can find a way to just not turn the ball over, there is no reason they don’t walk into Chicago and end their magical season.
