Key Matchups in Green Bay @ Denver

December 12, 2025 by Packers Talk

Week 15 is upon us and it features two teams in 1st place in their divisions, the (9-3-1)Green Bay Packers travel to Denver to face the (11-2)Broncos. This matchup could be a Super Bowl Preview and rematch of Super Bowl 32. Two teams both vying for the #1 seed in their respective conferences. Today we dive into the key matchups in Green Bay @ Denver.

Packers Offensive Line vs Denver Defense

The 1st key matchup in week 15 is the Packers offensive line vs the Denver Broncos defense. It is obvious that when the Packers keep Jordan Love clean the team typically performs well. In the 3 losses this season, Green Bay has really struggled when being pressured by the front 4 of their opposition. The offensive line has looked better since Sean Rhyan and Anthony Belton took over the inside of the line. The problem is they are facing arguably the best front 4 in the NFL. The Broncos have the most sacks in the NFL with 55 entering week 15. This will be a very tough challenge for this offensive line. For Green Bay to come out on top in this matchup, it will be imperative to slow down that pass rush and the Denver defense.

The Broncos are just the second team since 1990 with 55+ sacks in the first 13 games of a season, joining the 2000 Saints.

Packers Pass Rush vs Bo Nix

Second of the key matchups in Green Bay @ Denver is the Packers pass rush vs Denver QB Bo Nix. It has been no surprise since trading for Micah Parsons that the Packers want to affect the game by rushing the quarterback. Their opponent Bo Nix has struggled when facing pressure in 2025. Nix completes only 44.5% of passes with more interceptions when rushed. That is with the top ranked offensive line in the NFL. For Green Bay to have success in Denver it will hinge on if the Packers pass rush can affect Bo Nix enough to force bad passes or interceptions. Another key to this game has to be Rashan Gary, who has not registered a sack since the Pittsburgh game. If the Packers pass rush is going to be successful on Sunday they will need Gary to start compiling sacks to end the 2025 season.

Jordan Love vs Denver Defense

The last of our key matchups in Green Bay @ Denver is Packers QB Jordan Love vs the Denver defense. Sunday versus Chicago, we witnessed Jordan Love displaying great pre-snap reads and checking to plays that favored his receivers in man coverage. Having Christian Watson back has transformed the Packers offense and we are finally seeing the vision the team had in mini camp. Even without Tucker Kraft the Packers offense is finding ways to affect the game. There has been no better quarterback in the NFL on 3rd and 4th down as well. A lot of that has to do with how well Love is seeing the field right now. Look for Love to exploit the Broncos cornerbacks to try and draw some defensive penalties. The Broncos lead the NFL with 17 pass interference calls. There is some weaknesses to this Denver defense and it will be up to Jordan Love to show up again during Toyotathon.
