Josh Jacobs, Jayden Reed hit season milestones in first half vs. Bears

January 5, 2025 by Packers Wire

Running back Josh Jacobs and receiver Jayden Reed both hit notable season milestones during the first half of the Green Bay Packers’ season finale against the Chicago Bears on Sunday at Lambeau Field.

Jacobs went over 1,300 rushing yards and scored his 15th rushing touchdown of the season, while Reed went over 1,000 total yards for the first time in his NFL career.

Jacobs rushed six times for 44 yards in the first half. His 9-yard touchdown run extended his touchdown streak to eight games, a new franchise record. He also became just the fourth player in franchise history (and first since Ahman Green in 2003) to hit 1,300 rushing yards, and the fourth player in franchise history to score at least 15 rushing touchdowns. Jacobs now ranks second in the NFL in rushing touchdowns, trailing only Derrick Henry (16).

Reed caught one pass for 31 yards and rushed twice for five yards. His 36 total yards gives him 1,005 total yards on the season. Reed recently became the first wide receiver in team history to create at least 900 total yards in back-to-back seasons to start his career. Adding in his 31 receiving yards and five rushing yards, Reed now has 840 receiving yards and 165 rushing yards this season.

The Packers trail 14-13 at halftime. Both Jordan Love (elbow) and Christian Watson (knee) exited in the first half with injuries and are currently questionable to return.
