The New York Jets are seemingly all-in on Aaron Rodgers being their quarterback in 2023, but have balked at meeting the Green Bay Packers’ alleged asking price in a trade. One Jets wide receiver doesn’t seem worried though.
Speaking to TMZ, Jets newly-signed wide receiver Allen Lazard – who played with Rodgers in Green Bay – said there’s “no worry” for him about Rodgers potentially not joining the team. He said that he’s convinced it will happen since Rodgers has given his commitment to playing for the Jets.
“There’s no worry on my end… Especially knowing that Aaron has his full-on commitment to being a New York Jet this year,” Lazard said.
Of course, that doesn’t really seem to answer the question of how he’ll feel if Rodgers doesn’t wind up coming to the Jets anyway. Just about every move the Jets have made has appeared geared towards having Rodgers as their starting quarterback in 2023. But he isn’t a Jet yet and by the looks of things this trade negotiation could go on for a while.
Allen Lazard tells TMZ Sports Aaron Rodgers was “a big reason” he’s now a Jet … adding that he has zero concerns that an NY trade for the QB could fall through. https://t.co/4sgxOGhE26

If the Jets fail to come to terms on a trade agreement with the Packers, not only will they be in quarterback hell for another year or more, but their title odds will go from top 10 to bottom 10 in an instant.
With or without Rodgers, if the Jets fail to make the playoffs in 2023, everyone from the head coach to the general manager will be on the chopping block.
