Packers TE Jace Sternberger has been suspended without pay for the first two games of the 2021 reagular season for violating the NFL Policy and Program on Substances of Abuse, the league announced today.
Sternberger is allowed to work out with the team during training camp and play in preseason games, then he will miss the Packers trip to New Orleans and the home opener against Detroit before being able to play in the Week 3 game against the 49ers.
A third-round pick in 2019, the 24-year-old caught 12 passes for 114 yards and one touchdown in 12 games last season. He missed the final four games of the regular season with a concussion and wasn’t activated for the Packers’ two playoff games.
