In, out, nobody’s gets hurt

January 5, 2025 by Howard Brubaker

That should be the Packers motto this week, in, out, nobody gets hurt. The outcome of this is essentially meaningless. No matter where the Packers go in the playoffs, Philly, Tampa Bay or Los Angeles, it will be tough. I actually prefer Philly after thinking about it.

I think the Packers luck with the Rams is about to run out. They always seem to get them at less than full strength, and have always taken advantage. The Rams are full strength and have momentum going into the playoffs. And I’ll tell you this, I want no part of Baker Mayfield and the Bucs again. The last time the Packers faced them Mayfield posted a perfect passer rating in a Bucs rout in Lambeau.

I don’t know what to think of the Bears game. One thing is sure, whatever head coach Matt LaFleur told the media is probably not true. I could easily see him sitting Jordan Love and Josh Jacobs for the game. Jacobs already hinted he wasn’t playing much, if at all. The Packers should be able to beat the Bears with Malik Willis and Emanuel Wilson if that is the direction they choose to go.

For now I’ll take LaFleur at his word when he says they are playing to win the game. If the Packers somehow start fast and get a big lead it will be short work for the stars, though. I’ll say the Packers do that and then Bears rally for a close final score. Packers 28, Bears 20.
