Green Bay Packers Rookies Draft Grades

January 17, 2025 by Last Word On Pro Football

Packers Rookie

The Green Bay Packers are officially out of contention for hoisting the Lombardi Trophy for what could have been the fifth time in franchise history. In an exciting, yet troubling and injury-filled season, the Packers rookie class was frequently called upon to fill positions that were in need of deepening throughout the season.

While most draftees just barely scratched the bottom of the barrel when it came to getting playing time, some stood out and made a difference on the field when called upon. Let us hand out end-of-year grades for the Packers rookie class going into the offseason.

Green Bay Packers Rookie Grades

Jordan Morgan, OT – 25th Overall

It was a bummer to see the Packers first-round draft pick unable to see the field as expected this season as he dealt with a right shoulder injury that kept him sidelined for the majority of the year. Morgan had 186 snaps between the left guard and right guard positions, with most of them coming in his first career start in Week 9 against the Detroit Lions. Green Bay was hopeful to see Morgan flourish in his rookie season, but suffering an injury during training camp put him in a position as a rotational piece.

Grade: Unfinished

Edgerrin Cooper, LB – 45th Overall

Cooper was a pleasant surprise and addition to an injury prone linebacker room. Immediately making an impact and improving as the season went on, Cooper finished with two Defensive Player of the Week awards alongside a Defensive Player of the Month selection in December. A combination of pure athleticism and play-making abilities were increasingly put on display as he was given more and more chances to put himself on the map. He led the team with 13 tackles for loss despite appearing in just 14 games. He was a force to be reckoned with all over the field.

Grade: A

Javon Bullard, S – 58th Overall

Bullard had high expectations coming to Green Bay as he earned the starting role early on in the season. As a result, he struggled in a lot of facets, especially in coverage against some of the best pass-catchers in the league. Bullard allowed 46 receptions on the season, which is fifth-worst among safeties. Although 2024 was not the most productive year for the Packers rookie in a shallow secondary, his development is promising for future seasons.

Grade: C-

Marshawn Lloyd, RB – 88th Overall

Riding the same wave as Morgan is this star running back who was also hopeful to have a huge impact on the Packers offense right out of the gates. Unfortunately, that was stopped short by an ankle injury he suffered in his NFL debut, followed by a seven-week hiatus and a diagnosis of appendicitis at the end of his time on injured reserve. With a long offseason in front of him, Lloyd should look to get the ball rolling as he attempts to be on par with Josh Jacobs.

Grade: Unfinished

Ty’Ron Hopper, LB – 91st Overall

Hopper had just 18 snaps this season as he was under the circumstances of playing behind the likes of Quay Walker, Cooper, Eric Wilson and Isaiah McDuffie. Yet, he contributed on special teams all season long as he was named the Packers special teams player of the week in Week 6. Rich Bisaccia talks in all positives when mentioning the Packers rookie.

Grade: B-

Evan Williams, S – 111th Overall

Williams made his presence known as a lock down defender as he saw increased reps. Opposite of Bullard, Williams was immaculate in coverage, ranking 24th of 170 safeties on Pro Football Focus. The question is whether or not this Packers rookie can stay healthy and continue to be productive going into September. There is not much doubt in that.

Grade: A-

The Rest

Jacob Monk, C – 163rd Overall – Unfinished

Monk did not see the field in 2024, but hopes to carve out a role next season if Josh Myers fails to re-sign.

Grade: C

Kitan Oladapo, S – 169th Overall

Oladapo saw limited snaps as well and hopes to be up there with Bullard and Williams as far as playing time is concerned.

Grade: C

Travis Glover, OT – 202nd Overall

Glover will face challenges in the snap department as well but shows promise as a backup.

Grade: C

Michael Pratt, QB – 245th Overall

Pratt signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after failing to make the 53-man roster over Malik Willis.

Grade: F

Kalen King, CB – 255th Overall

King found himself on and off of the practice squad this year and hopes to be a key piece to a crumbling secondary corps, especially if Jaire Alexander moves elsewhere.

Grade: C
