Green Bay Packers Now the Fifth Most Popular NFL Team Worldwide

August 15, 2024 by Cheesehead TV

According to research conducted in a recent study, the Green Bay Packers are now the fifth most popular NFL team in the world. This stat is based on the number of online searches for each team worldwide. The Dallas Cowboys lead the way, with 440,000 monthly searches, with the Kansas City Chiefs just behind in second spot.

Having failed to make the postseason in 2022, Matt LaFleur’s side got to the Divisional playoffs in 2023, albeit after a fairly unconvincing regular season where they finished with a 9-8 record.

Fans of Green Bay who feel the possibility of a push for a first Super Bowl since the 2010 season can back their bet with the aid of these sports betting promos, which will help make your wager a little more risk-free.

The Packers have clearly had to move on following the departure of Aaron Rodgers to the New York Jets, and having handed Jordan Love a new deal that makes him the best-paid NFL quarterback of all time, the Green Bay star has opened up on how he has benefitted from Matt LaFleur’s insights,

“I think he does a great job coaching us up in the quarterback room specifically. But like you said, he lets me be me. The first thing he told me when I took over was just to be myself. Don’t try and be Aaron, don’t try and be anybody else that’s been here.”

“I have grown so much from my rookie year, that it’s definitely night and day at a player what I was. So I want to kind of just go back one day and watch the film from the training camp, just see how bad I was out there.” Love added.

Indeed, having waited out his time in Rodgers’ shadow, Love now needs to step up to the plate in an even bigger way, and not just because of his new $200 million-plus contract. Last season, especially the second half of the regular season, the 25-year-old showed great consistency, racking up 4159 passing yards and 32 passing touchdowns.

LaFleur has made the decision to play Love, and other key starters will be field in their early preseason matchups; commenting on his decision,

“Last year, having all the guys play, I thought it was beneficial for us early on, especially week one, just to kind of knock some of the rust off,”

“I think there’s a lot of value just going through getting your mind ready to play a football game.”

Clearly, there is always the spectre of a possible injury or two, but LaFleur obviously sees the value in his roster getting real action under their belt ahead of the new season, which starts with a trip to Brazil. That’s because the Green Bay Packers open the campaign with a trip to face the Philadelphia Eagles in Sao Paulo before facing the Indianapolis Colts on home soil at Lambeau Field nine days later. It will be the first time in over half a century that an NFL game will be played on a Friday night of an opening weekend, and it is the first time NFL action has taken place in Brazil.
