Rookie camp starts today, but there’s plenty more to learn about the newest Packers off the field.
One thing that nearly every member of the Green Bay Packers’ 2025 draft class seem to all share is character. The “Packer People” mantra is a bit of a silly cliché these days, but this group of draft picks and undrafted free agents appears to be filled genuine individuals who should be assets to the franchise both on and off the field.
As we learn more about this year’s crop of rookies’ abilities this weekend during rookie minicamp, it’s worth spending a bit of time examining who they are off of it.
Start, of course, with 4th-round pick Barryn Sorrell. By now, you know the story of his Draft weekend unless you’ve been living under a rock, but we’re finding out more about just how well-respected he was at the University of Texas. Meanwhile, we have undrafted free agent Nazir Stackhouse dealing with an unusual and potentially difficult medical condition and still managing to make himself into a three-year starter for the Georgia Bulldogs.
Anthony Belton got a profile in yesterday’s curds that talked about his football IQ and development, and he seems happy to slot in at whatever position the Packers want him to play.
All told, this is a fun group of players when they put on the pads, and it looks like a good group when they take them off.

You won’t find a person in the Texas program with a harsh word to say about Sorrell; in fact, every Texas player the Packers talked to before the draft said that Sorrell was the best player in practice, and his defensive coordinator called him the “glue” for that unit.

Meanwhile, Belton looks like a candidate to play guard, but he’ll probably get a shot at tackle as well this offseason. At the very least, there’s versatility there as a backup if he does not end up in the starting lineup early on.
