Four Key Match-Ups for the Packers in the 2025 season

When the schedule came out for the 2025 season, there were some intriguing match-ups your eyes went to.

For the Packers it might be hard to improve on the 11-6 season from last year.

But it’s not impossible for the Packers to improve from their record in 2025.

With that here are four key match-ups to look forward to during the 2025 season.

Detriot Lions: Weeks 1 and 13

Right off the bat the Packers will be tested with a match-up against the defending NFC north champions Detroit Lions.

The Lions have swept the Packers last year and have won all but one game against the Packers since 2022.

The week one match-up will be the first home opener for the Packers since 2018.

Then you have the Thanksgiving match up in Detroit week 13 in the 2025 season.

This game will perhaps determine who will rule the NFC North.

The Packers only had 1 win within the division last year and will look to redeem themselves against the NFC North in 2025.

The schedule doesn’t get any easier for the Packers as they face yet another tough opponent in week 2.

The Washington Commanders come into town for a primetime matchup on Thursday night.

The Commanders are coming off a season where they made it to the NFC championship game and put up a valiant effort against the Philadelphia Eagles.

This will be the first time the Packers will face QB Jayden Daniels.

It will be interesting to see how the Packers defense will handle Daniels and his ability to pass and run.

Meanwhile, the Commanders stingy defense will be a challenge for Jordan Love and the Packers offense.

This game could have major playoff implications between the two teams.

This game could also just be a meaningless game.

But if each teams season goes as some would plan, this could be a Super Bowl preview.

This is another match-up where the Packers haven’t faced the opposing QB.

Lamar Jackson was out with an injury the last time the Packers faced the Ravens.

Furthermore, this will be a challenge for the Packers run defense as face a dual threat in Jackson.

They’ll also have to stop Derrick Henry, who had a breakout year last year with 1,921 yards on the ground.

The Super Bowl Champions will march into Green Bay in week 10 of the 2025 season.

When you play the defending Super Bowl champions, you know that it is a big time match-up.

Last season the Packers fell short in their two games against the Eagles.

The Packers will look to redeem themselves after losing to the Eagles twice.

If the Packers are looking to dethrone the Super Bowl Champions, they will have to stop their run game.

Led by Jalen Hurts and Saquon Barkley, the Eagles have a rushing attack that is equally dangourous.

Last year, the Packers couldn’t stop the run against the Eagles in both games.

WIth one year under their belts, look for the Packers defense under Jeff Hafley to tighten up against the run.

Offensively, the Packers struggled in the playoffs against the Eagles.

Some of it was due in part to injuries on the offensive line.

The Packers shored up their offensive line during the offseason making it a priority for them.

Look for the Packers to have better protection for Jordan Love and the Packers to have success in the passing game.
