Former Packers cornerback Kevin King provided an update on his NFL career this week.
In a video King released on YouTube, he told the NFL world that he suffered a torn Achilles while working out. That’ll most likely end any chance he had of playing football this fall.
King already took off the 2022 season to focus on his mental health.
“After my fifth year with the Packers I was actually pretty healthy. It was a time when I felt pretty good for the first time in a while. My first four years I had surgery after every year so I didn’t have much of a chance to have an offseason,” King said. “They don’t really talk about the wear and tear on you mentally that it does, dealing with injuries.”

King, a former second-round pick, appeared in 51 games for the Packers from 2017-2021. He racked up 197 combined tackles, 30 pass breakups, seven interceptions and two forced fumbles.
As you’d expect, King misses playing football on Sundays.
“I miss it out there for sure,” King added. “I spent the last five years with the Packers before the year I took off. Spending that with the Packers was some of the best times in my life.”
Hopefully, King makes a full recovery from his Achilles injury.
