Former Packers K Mason Crosby announces retirement from NFL

February 4, 2025 by Packers Wire

Long-time Green Bay Packers kicker Mason Crosby announced his retirement from the NFL during “The Mason Crosby Show” on 105.7 The Fan in Milwaukee on Tuesday.

Crosby, a sixth-round pick of the Packers in the 2007 draft, spent 16 seasons in Green Bay. He played in three games for the New York Giants in 2023 but did not play in the NFL in 2024.

Crosby said he had been “putting off” retirement for two years. The Packers did not re-sign him following the 2022 season.

Crosby played in 261 career games, including 258 with the Packers. He was a member of the Packers’ Super Bowl XLV champion team and left Green Bay as the franchise’s all-time leader in points and field goals made. He won NFC Special Teams Player of the Week eight times and NFC Special Teams Player of the Month twice. Crosby never missed a regular or postseason game while with the Packers.

Now 40 years old, Crosby is moving on to the next part of his life after football.
