Former Packers Executive’s Aaron Rodgers, Jets Tweet Going Viral

As the New York Jets continue to court Aaron Rodgers, one former Packers executive is amused by some of the things he’s seen.

Taking to Twitter on Saturday, former Packers executive Andrew Brandt mocked the New York Jets for effectively making Rodgers their general manager over the course of their offseason with the moves they’ve made. He also took a parting shot at the Chicago Bears, dubbing Rodgers the Bears’ “owner” despite still being on the Packers.

“Aaron Rodgers GM-ing the Jets (and owning the Bears) while a member of the Packers roster is, well, something,” Brandt wrote.

Brandt’s tweet is going viral with many fans mocking the Jets for trying to get Rodgers while believing that their moves will not lead to a Super Bowl win.

“Definitely won’t result in a Lombardi…” one user replied.

Others pointed out that Brandt is hardly the first person to make that joke:

“That joke by someone else already went viral weeks ago Andrew.. come on..” another wrote.

“we’ve heard this corny ass joke for a month, get something original old man,” wrote a third.

Most of the moves the Jets have made would be fine in a vacuum regardless of whether Rodgers is coming to their team or not. The only move they’ve made that really makes no sense other than for Rodgers is naming Nathaniel Hackett – Rodgers’ longtime friend – as their offensive coordinator.
