When the Jets officially introduced Allen Lazard to the media last week, he sounded confident that Aaron Rodgers would be his quarterback next season.
“We were both trying to do what was right for the both of us. Obviously, his situation is a little bit different with his career and everything,” Lazard said. “Standing here today, it feels good knowing that 12 is going to be my quarterback again.”
Although a trade still hasn’t been finalized, Lazard firmly believes Rodgers will be under center for the Jets this fall.
“There’s no worry on my end, especially knowing that Aaron has his full-on commitment to be a New York Jet this year,” Lazard told TMZ Sports. “It’s really on the guys upstairs to handle the business side of things.”
Lazard added that a lot of players on the Jets are eager for this saga to end.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Jets and Packers haven’t “spoken much” this week.
The most likely scenario is that either the Jets or Packers will loosen their demands to ensure a trade gets done this offseason. For now, they’re playing hardball.
