Green Bay Packers cornerback Jaire Alexander has a rather unique approach to his offseason schedule.
Alexander did not attend the Packers’ voluntary offseason workouts, forfeiting his $700,000 workout bonus in the process. Back in town for Green Bay’s mandatory minicamp this week, the 26-year-old standout explained his reasoning for this approach.
“I know what works for me at this point,” Alexander said, via the team’s website. “I’m on Year Six, two Pro Bowls, two All-Pros, I mean, I think I know what I got going on here.”
Packers fans don’t seem too concerned about Alexander not being with the team for OTAs, but many are dumbfounded at his willingness to shrug off such a large amount of additional compensation.
“I wish I was fine missing out on $700k,” one fan said.

Alexander, who made the Pro Bowl for the second time last season, is in the middle of a four-year, $84 million contract extension he signed last year.
It runs through the 2026 campaign.
