When a report from ESPN’s Dianna Russini in March detailed a “wish list” of players for the Jets provided by Aaron Rodgers, the four-time MVP quarterback denied its existence.
“From what I’ve seen, I had a sheet of paper when I met with the Jets and said sign these people,” Rodgers said back in March. “That’s not the reality.”
Well, what is reality is that today, the Jets signed veteran wide receiver Randall Cobb, Rodgers’ teammate for 10 years in Green Bay. He joins Allen Lazard, another ex-Packer free agent signing by Gang Green, and another player Rodgers reportedly had on his “list.”
The news of Cobb’s signing sparked a similar reaction from numerous members of the sports media world.
“The Jets continue to check the boxes off Aaron Rodgers’ wish list,” said FOX Sports’ Henry McKenna.

“Remember when Rodgers insisted he did not have a ‘wish list’ for the Jets,” joked NFL writer Lindsey Ok.

“Another player on the ‘wish’ list joins Rodgers & Co.,” said longtime ESPN Jets writer Rich Cimini.

“Weird how players from the nonexistent wish list continue to be signed by the Jets,” added former NFL offensive lineman Geoff Schwartz.

“For someone who doesn’t have a list, this has Aaron Rodgers written all over it,” chimed in Meghan Hall of The Colts Wire.

As for the other two players that were reportedly on Rodgers’ list, tight end Marcedes Lewis remains unsigned and the Jets made a strong run at wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. before losing him to the Baltimore Ravens and their lucrative contract offer.
If Lewis is eventually added, that would make it 3-for-4 from the so-called nonexistent list.
A measure of vindication for Russini, no doubt.
