DeSean Jackson Names 4 Teams He Could Have Interest In

April 21, 2022 by The Spun

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver DeSean Jackson before a game.

At 35 years of age, wide receiver DeSean Jackson appears to be on the verge of calling it a career. But he has a short list of teams that he’d be willing to play for if he were to return.

Speaking to Ashley Nicole Moss on Sports Illustrated’s “Laces Out,” Jackson identified four teams he’d potentially be willing to play for in 2022. He identified the Green Bay Packers, Kansas City Chiefs, Denver Broncos and Cleveland Browns as those teams.

“There’s a few teams maybe out there. Chiefs may be one. The Browns. Russell Wilson in Denver. Green Bay… we’ll see for sure,” Jackson said.

It probably doesn’t hurt that the quarterbacks for those teams are all elite and have a reputation for making their receivers better. Aaron Rodgers, Patrick Mahomes, Russell Wilson and Deshaun Watson all have the talent to get Jackson the ball.

Last year, DeSean Jackson started the season with the Los Angeles Rams but asked for his release nine weeks into the season. He finished the year with the Las Vegas Raiders and had a 26-yard reception in the playoffs.

While Jackson isn’t getting the ball nearly as often as he used to, he’s still able to get downfield when he gets the ball in his hands. Since 2018 he has 84 receptions for 1,623 yards and nine touchdowns with a 19.3 yards per catch average.

Granted, his catch rate is under 60-percent – not a great number for any wide receiver.

But if there’s a team out there that still needs a deep threat, DeSean Jackson might be the guy.
